Mustad Z-Steel is a revolutionary new corrosion resistant finish. It produces a hook with extreme corrosion resistance but with much greater strength than an equivalent conventional stainless hook.

Mustad has now applied Z-Steel technology to its famous 7691 Southern & Tuna hook. The resultant Mustad 7691Z is perfect for trolling in single or tandem rigs in skirted lures. Wire diameter is the same as the 7691S pattern.

Z-Steel is 8 times more corrosion resistant than stainless steel but does not dull the hook point or compromise hook sharpness in any way. The 7691Z will resist corrosion after many hours of constant trolling, even where the plating has been scraped off by hook point sharpening or other causes. The 7691Z also features a brazed ring, something not used on normal stainless trolling hooks due to technical difficulties.

Size range for the 7691Z is 12/0 down to 6/0.
