The Abu Garcia Orra S40 combined with an Abu Garcia Veritas rod won The Best Combo Kit at the Australian Fishing Tackle Association trade show last June. The Abu Garcia® Orra® reels have always been tough. But thanks to a new, more compact design that reduces weight, these spinning reels won’t be tough on anglers who use them.
Each reel in the Orra family features the new Rocket Line Management system. This system consists of a new Rocket spool lip design, altered bail angle and slow oscillation system. The result is improved line trajectory through the stripper guide and reduced line contact with the rod blank. On the water, this translates to improved casting distance and reduced wind knots.
Each Orra reel is available in four sizes and are made with corrosion-resistant components built to outlast equipment-eroding conditions. The lightweight, compact construction is built around an IM-C6 (insert molded C6 carbon) body design and C6 carbon stem to reduce weight without sacrificing strength. Other features of the Orra family include a smooth and consistent Carbon Matrix™ drag system, stainless-steel main shaft, machined aluminum braid-ready spool and durable Everlast™ bail system.
Orra Inshore reels are available in sizes 30, 35, 40 and 60 with a gear ratio of 5.8-to-1 (5.6- to-1 on the size 60) and weights starting at 226 grams. For added smoothness and corrosion protection, the Inshore has eight High Performance Corrosion Resistant (HPCR™) stainless-steel bearings and one roller bearing. Designed for saltwater applications, the reel handle has a flat EVA knob for greater comfort and control.
Available in four sizes (20, 30, 40 and 60), the Orra SX gear ratio is 5.8-to-1 with eight HPCR stainless-steel bearings and one roller bearing and weights starting at 229 gramns. The 5.8-to- 1 gear ratio Orra S has six HPCR stainless-steel bearings and one roller bearing with weights starting at 235 grams ounces.
Orra S combos are available, perfectly matched withVeritas rods for a balanced oufit. So balanced in fact that the Orra S, Veritas Light Jig combo won the best combo at the 2014 AFTA new product awards.
