DARWIN REEF N WRECKS

Darwin Reef n Wrecks is a well-known family-owned-and-operated business. Since its humble beginnings in 2006 with a 12m Tri Hull called ScubaFish, it has gone from strength to strength.

Initially operating half-day harbour charters, the company quickly earned a name for itself thanks to excellent crews and an ability to get its clients onto fish.

Expansion was required and the company invested in a 47ft Randall called Reefmaster. This then enabled Darwin Reef n Wrecks to conduct both full-day and extended live-aboard charters. These became so popular that it wasn’t long before yet another vessel was purchased, Island Selina, a beautiful 50ft new West Coaster. As the name Darwin Reef n Wrecks and the catchy jingle, Stop Wishing Come Fishing, evolved, so did the company yet again, leasing a luxurious 56ft Precision vessel named Jan Lee. Now with a fleet of 4 vessels, Darwin Reef n Wrecks are able to offer a product which it arguably believes is second to none.

HALF TO FULL-DAY CHARTERS Half-day Harbour Charters These are operated by either Reefmaster (13pax) or Island Selina (17pax). The half-day charter fishes the deep water and many reefs and submerged wrecks inside Darwin Harbour. Targeting several species and offering a meal, tea/coffee and water, as well as the ability to cook your catch on board, have enabled Darwin Reef n Wrecks to operate these most popular half-day Darwin harbour charters.

5-hour Offshore Night Fishing This is operated by either Reefmaster or Island Selina. With the Territory famous for its fish and sunsets, why not combine both. Offering the same as its half-day package, you travel outside of the harbour to Charles Point in search of the mighty jewfish. You fish in much cooler and calmer conditions, enjoying the sunset in true Territory style.

Full-day Offshore Fishing This is operated by Island Selina or Reefmaster. Travel up to 45nm offshore in search of species such as Spanish mackerel, giant trevally, queenfish, golden snapper and cod. This trip is very popular due to the quality of the vessel and crew, combined with its strike rate. Clients are spoilt with a bacon and egg breakfast, fresh fruit, morning tea, cold chicken/meat and salad lunch, catch of the day and cheese, biscuits and cabanas for afternoon tea.

Extended Live-aboard Packages In searching for a point of difference, Darwin Reef n Wrecks has developed some wonderful extended live-aboard packages utilising Jan Lee. This vessel is fitted with the latest fish-finding equipment and all the luxuries of a hotel away from home, including: toilet/shower, hot and cold water, onboard galley, air-conditioned sleeping cabins for 8 people, satellite TV/Internet and 42-inch plasma. With our experienced crew and exciting destinations, we have been able to develop a market that is talked about Australia wide.

2-Day Extended
Live-aboard Adventures These depart on most Friday evenings and travel to such places as the Tiwi Islands, The Peron Islands and Flat Top Banks. Clients are welcomed to some brilliant Territory fishing on these trips, targeting a wide range of species.

3/4-day Extended
Live-aboard Adventures These cater for those with just a little more time on there hands; we are able to travel a little farther than the two day trips.

5-day Extended
Bluewater Adventures On these fabulous trips, we travel further than most operators into the Timor Box just 10nm south of the Indonesian boundary. Fishing is at its best here as you look down over 30m of crystal clear water…you can almost target your fish before dropping a line. The vast range of species includes jobfish, mahi mahi and sailfish. These 5-day trips are so popular that many customers are repeats.

5-day Bluewater and
Barramundi Adventure Jan Lee is the perfect mothership option. Travelling with two guides and six passengers, we travel to places such as The Moyle River or the Mini Mini system with two 5m tether boats. We anchor in sheltered waters and spend the days exploring the mangrove systems in search of barramundi. Fishing waters often not visited, you will experience true Territory-style fishing whilst enjoying all the comforts of home. Darwin Reef n Wrecks is always evolving and looking for new ways to amaze its clients, be it through its marketing, websites or soon-to-commence live online reservation system.
