PENN® Slammer III reels are designed to perform in heavy-duty fishing situations demanded by hardcore anglers.
The Slammer III features an IPX6 sealed system to keep saltwater spray from penetrating the gear box and drag system in heavy sea or surf conditions. The Slammer III incorporates the excellent PENN proprietary sealed Dura-Drag system that eliminates hesitation and initial pressure surge as the drag starts up, even under extreme drag settings.
Inside the gearbox, precision brass main, pinion and oscillation gears are individually machined using CNC gear technology to exact tolerances thus providing the smoothest operation possible. The full metal body, side-plate and rotor house seven stainless steel bearings for a lifetime of fishing in saltwater conditions.
Penn Slammer III is available in eight models covering a wide range of inshore and offshore angling opportunities from deep water jigging to casting poppers and stick baits. Gear ratios range from 6.2:1 on the smaller reels to 4.2:1 on the largest size reel. Maximum drags start at 15kg in the smaller models to 30kg in the largest. The oversized reel handle grip gives the angler added control during the fight.
The 3500 Slammer III is the smallest of the family weighing 394g while the 10500 weighs 1221g.
