Honda’s completely re-designed BF40 and BF50 engines are enhanced with electronic fuel injection, Boosted Low Speed Torque (BLAST) air/fuel ratio and ignition-timing technology, and Lean Burn Control to deliver powerful start-up and acceleration with greater fuel economy when cruising.BLAST uses a newly designed streamlined gear case to create greater acceleration and a higher top speed, while Lean Burn Control results in 22 per cent better fuel economy over previous models.Battery charging capacity has been increased to 17 amps, over 1.7 times that of their predecessors. Noise levels have been reduced by 1.0dB through a longer exhaust and an optimised rib design inside the upper portion of the extension case. Both are compatible with Honda’s general-purpose engine diagnostic system (Dr H) and have a one-touch plastic cap that permits easy inspection of anode wear inside the engine.
