Operating fishing charters since 1989, partners John Dagan and Vickie Coleman have held a permit to operate in Kakadu National Park since 1990. Under the banner of their renowned business, Darwin Barra Fishing Tours, they have operated fishing tours on most Top End waterways, including the South Alligator, Mary, Daly and Adelaide Rivers, plus Bynoe and Darwin Harbours. They have also been operating from Endyalgout Island since 2003. Darwin Barra Fishing Tours offers clients the opportunity to not only catch some of the world’s great fish but to do it in spectacular and often remote locations that can only be experienced through an experienced guide. To maintain the integrity of such experiences, Darwin Barra Fishing Tours is a strong promoter of sustainable business practices. As a keen supporter of best practice, John and our three guides have all completed the Kakadu Knowledge for Tour Guides course at Charles Darwin University which confirms Darwin Barra Fishing Tours’ commitment to quality and integrity in its business operations and associated relationships. This commitment extends to owning, operating and maintaining only the best in vehicles, boats and equipment used in supplying quality fishing charters to our customers. This is what our customers expect, this is what they get and this is what they come back for. For over two decades, we have found this to be a key factor in our success, together with the attraction of fishing in the Northern Territory. Additionally, our guides are trained to have a very strong customer focus and tutor clients in effective fishing techniques to enable them to land the prized barramundi or other fish species they may wish to target on their tour. It doesn’t matter if you are a novice angler or a very experienced angler, Darwin Barra Fishing Tours will cater for everyone. EQUIPMENT Darwin Barra Fishing Tours operates 6.1 and 6.4 metre custom-built boats with 4-stroke Honda outboards. Transport is in comfortable, air-conditioned 4WDs with Tourist Vehicle registrations. REMOTE CAMP Darwin Barra Fishing Tours is the sole licensed tour operator for Endyalgout Island and Mini Mini Creek system on the north-west coastline of Arnhem Land. This area is 200km north east of Darwin, a one-hour flight by light aircraft. It is one of the biggest estuary systems along the Northern Territory coast. The system includes Endyalgout, Mini Mini, Maxi Maxi, Iwalg, and produces very good lure fishing from May to November each year. We have caught over 30 species of fish, including barramundi, trevally, mackerel, golden snapper, threadfin salmon, blue salmon, queenfish, jewfish and pikey bream. As with all our tours, top quality tackle is supplied on a replace if lost or damaged basis. We cater for fly fishermen but do not supply fly fishing tackle. Our custom-built boats have swivel seats and sunshade for your comfort. Accommodation is in fan-cooled, fully-screened huts on the beach of Endyalgout Island. With new accommodation huts and new staff, we are looking forward to a fantastic season in 2012.
