The new NT Fishing and Boating Mate app is a free NT Government app providing an enhanced user experience, through access to the best fishing times, fishing and boating rules, weather forecasts, and important notifications, all at your fingertips.
The app has been redesigned as an easy-to-use one-stop tool to help anglers and boaters have a safe and enjoyable day on the water.
New features include direct access to your current locations, tidal and wind information, with seven-day forecasts, as well as direct links to the Bureau of Meteorology website for more detailed tide and weather information. A new function based off the sun and moon orientation also predicts the best fishing times for your area.
The app also provides access to up-to-date detailed information on fish species, size limits, possession and vessel limits, boating rules, safety gear requirements, artificial reef locations, and best catch and release processes.
The interactive maps provide location information on boating and fishing restriction areas and notifications in real time.
There is also a reporting function to share details on suspicious fishing activity, marine pests, marine pollution, marine incidents, as well as problem crocs.
Users of the app can access notices to mariners and stay up-to-date with the latest marine safety information. Users will also receive Million Dollar Fish updates, as well as a quick link to registration.
